The main purpose of the WIDEnet Twitter feed is to serve as the nowcasting component of the WIDEnet, in order to keep users up to date on storms or other weather conditions that are or will affect Alexandria and the immediate DC area from the next 30 minutes to 3 days.

The WIDEnet Facebook site will offer an integrated suite of information, communication, and media services to those subscribers who use Facebook, including photo and video uploads, short weather forecasts and alerts, interactive communication options, on-demand forecasts, and general WIDEnet information

likelihood of a threat to life and/or property, such as National Weather
Service Warnings and other major threats.

This channel not only features weather packages and updates, but also the rest of WIDEnet Media Services’s content collection, including raw weather footage, packages from TV Production, and Teens Talk/Keep it 360 material, so there’s plenty to watch.

The latest photos and videos from the WIDEnet, featured on the front page of ABC-7's weather section and by the Capital Weather Gang, will showcase the most intriguing visuals that the weather can offer, often as it occurs, along with analysis and commentary on what they contain and what that means to you.
On-Demand Forecasts: Email or Through Social Media Status: Fully Deployed and Online Every few days leading up to an event, up to every hour during an event if requested
Just tweet or Facebook me a quick request for a forecast update or for short-term weather at a specific time or place, and I'll get back to you ASAP. For more complex situations or events, contact me by email with the time, location (as specific as possible, especially in the short-term) and nature of what you want me to forecast for, and I can provide you with customized updates--what many companies and event organizers pay many thousands of dollars for!
