Folks, it was just one of those days ... as it goes some days ... absolutely ideal weather so I eased through a 15 miler comprised of two shorts and two longs. I Brekkie-loaded with an English Muffin topped with Peanut Butter, Blueberry Jam and Banana.
I increased the long loop slightly to avoid (apologies M^2) the tangled tree contraption by cutting 90 degrees West to the BCC boundary where the trail then cuts 90 degrees South into the campground. Right at the entrance cut 90 degrees East through a pedestrian gate into the green grass area that habours the shelters and water fountain. The water fountain continues to deliver cold clear refreshment. The toilets were locked, albeit as the world's my urinal not a serious issue in the event.
Not much hydration required throughout a short 15 miler, just a sip at the start / stop turn around plus a banana midway supplemented with a bag of Joe Ninke Teriyaki Beef Nuggets. All in all, an easy jog through the woods.
In addition I put in 30 miles on the bike to complement the trail running. The light winds offered an easy ride, a real treat after last week!
A great day!
