OK, I misquoted the 1st place finish time ... it was really 3:08:39! Not bad on that course!

The Napa Trail Marathon profile is at http://www.envirosports.com/exec/enviro/maps/napatrailmap.gif. A single aid station was available at the start / finish line so the 10K loops were self catered, albeit the temperature / dew point was such that little was required.

The marathon consisted of three 10K loops with a climb from 200 ft to 1150 feet, lots of rocks, steep climbs, steep descents, three or four mountain stream crossings (I kind of forgot as water levels were low so one could stay dry by rock hopping) followed by two 6K loops, no profile, basically just one long climb and one long descent. Great weather at 47 deg start, 70 deg finish. The overall winner finished in 3:30.

No info yet on how my 4:37 placed in age group or overall.
