Hey everybody,

I just emailed a bunch of you following up on how we're dividing
responsibilities.

I would like to try to make some progress before the end of the year.
Ideally some of the bigger questions would be answered (are we
changing the name? Ticket prices, dates for RFPs? Date tickets go on
sale, etc...

Do people feel we need to meet once a month? As I mentioned we could
meet before the meetings and catch up, this would help minimize the
extra commitment time. I don't think it is reasonable to expect much
movement before the November meeting so I'm happy to wait until
December before we start meeting.

I'm happy to help out with any of the specifics on any of the jobs we
split up. If anybody feels it is overwhelming or discovers they don't
have as much free time as they previously believed please let me know
ASAP instead of sitting on it.

Regarding the frequency of the meetings, once a month would work well for the broader group I think. Depending on who's assigned to what, more frequent meetings could happen between those involved.

There will also be opportunities to meet with those smaller task groups before or after things like BostonRB and project night gatherings. I say let the small teams self-organize and use the monthly meetings as the status or check-in milestones.

Regarding the name, I personally like "Wicked Good Ruby Conf" but am interested in hearing if others feel strongly for or against it. As the one handling the branding task, I'd like to get some feedback early on this one as it will drive the creative part of the process (illustrations, identity, etc).

I was also planning of bringing the topic up to the broader BostonRB group and get some community feedback.

Thoughts?

Johnny
