Our client in downtown Milwaukee seeks a senior contractor to fill a Technical Systems Specialist role IMMEDIATELY for a 3-6month position. This person will establish DB2/UDB for a UNIX development environment.
Responsibilities:
Work with various information teams to:
Determine requirements needed to implement a state-of-the-art application development environment for applications using DB2/UDB for UNIX.
Develop policy, methods, procedures, tools, etc., required to support a DB2/UDB for UNIX application development environment.
Actively participate in the implementation of all components required to support an application development environment for DB2/UDB for UNIX applications.

Experience:
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge in processes, procedures, and best practices for change management systems, including source code management, security, auditing, promotion to production.
Knowledge of UNIX/AIX, Unix scripting, C development language, JAVA, DBMS Stored procedures and User Defined Functions.
Proven leadership ability with excellent verbal and written communications and teamwork skills.
Superior interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with people of all levels in Tech Services and other IS areas.
Ability to build rapport and gain acceptance of ideas by others.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
High degree of personal initiative and self-motivation.
Flexible and able to work on multiple tasks concurrently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge & Experience Desired:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. Other majors with appropriate work experience will be considered.
Five or more years of systems experience required or proven track record in leading large, complex developmental projects. Equivalent combination of database project development experience will also be considered.
Two or more years experience with change management systems in an enterprise wide environment.
Two or more years experience working with relational database management systems, preferably DB2/UDB for UNIX.
