These people *CALL* themselves "progressives" but when you examine their
behavior and arguments they are ANTI-PROGRESS. If you distill the arguments
of Mr. Kohler Wisconsin should close ALL of its power plants and Wisconsin
should do without electricity. The ass never thinks that building nuke
plants "ALONG WITH" conservation is part of an overall plan. Conservation
won't take you there either, bub! So - we do what you DEMAND. No nuke
plants. The coal and oil plants have to go too. So we achieve what you
REALLY want. No electricity. Coal is banned. Oil is banned. I would suppose
natural gas would also go. Now, will the BRAINIAC tell us how homes in
Wisconsin are heated in winter? Nope, you can burn wood, either. That's the
dirtiest fuel going. I KNOW, I KNOW! Everyone in Wisconsin can FREEZE TO
DEATH in winter and he'll be happy. PROBLEM SOLVED! Carbon footprint erased!
Where the hell does Wisconsin find these idiots? Wouldn't it be nice IF

Johnson Controls Inc has a small solar farm off Green Bay Ave in Glendale
where I live. It's worth looking into alternatives while continuing to use
what works now, but don't be setting nuke waste down into bedrock that may
fracture and feed the aquifers that people will have to drink from for
10,000's of years.

Fission works now. Solar is $10/watt, just as it was 30 years ago.
I suppose I should be grateful the price is keeping pace with
inflation, but not even nuclear is that expensive.
There was an insert in the local newspaper about small wind turbines
for homeowners to purchase. I quote:
"A 10 kW wind turbine can generate about 10,000 to 16,000
kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually"

(16,000 kWh divided by 8760 hours/year). Economic madness.

The spent fuel should be reprocessed; not buried. With reprocessing,
breeder reactors, and fast reactors -- technologies which all exist
now, unlike cheap and efficient solar cells -- there is enough fissionable
material in the earth's crust to give 10 billion people a Western-style
standard of living for thousands of years. Who knows -- maybe by then
we'll have fusion working.

I supported Obama - DICKHEAD! High CO 2 is not necessarily a bad thing.
It seemed to work fine when most of the planet was a near tropical paradise.
Of course the issue *I* was talking about was resistance to NUCLEAR
