Hello, I'm trying to set up the Cricket A600 device to work with the
WiReach.
So, far, I'm not having any luck.
Cricket support is no help.

The settings I'm trying are,

Dial String - #777
APN - wap.mycricket.com
User Name - mynu...@mycricket.com
Password - cricket

It shows up as an AdHoc or peer to peer network,
I also did the update on the connectone website for CDMA.

Any ideas on how to get this to work?
Thanks, Phil

Hello Phill
We need to know if Wi-REACH recognize your modem to do this please
look at the Wi-REACH home page and see the modem status. If it state
device not ready or no device found then the Wi-REACH does not
recognize the modem. If it states usb device is ready or connecting to
ISP then the modem is recognized and it is probably a mistake in the
configuration of the isp or apn.
If you can give this input we can go from there and try to help you.
By the way did you check the compatible modems list on Connect One web
site?
Regards
Ophir

Make sure that when you plug the modem in and turn ON the unit, the
NET LED turns RED, then eventually turns BLUE.
That tells you that the modem has been recognized correctly.
If the modem is not recognized correctly, the NET LED will eventually
flash fast RED.

Once you see that the modem has been recognized, setup the following:

Dial string: #777
APN: CDMA
User name: your Cricket phone number goes here
Password: Cricket

Thank You for the replies.

The WiReach lights are OK,
It does appear on other computers as an adhoc or peer to peer network,
is that an issue?
It says the usb is ready, it recognizes the A600, says it is
connecting to network,,
but never does.
So it seems that the parameters may be incorrect for the
Cricket A600. I did change them per the post.
Again though, Cricket tech support is no help.

I know the A600 works properly without the WiReach.

Thanks for Your help,
Phil

It looks indeed like a parameter issue for the Cricket service.
The adhoc network is fine - that's what it should be.
I saw somewhere that the username was [your cricket phone
number]@mycricket.com
You can try that.

Don't forget to recycle the power to Wi-REACH every time you make a
parameter change.

If that doesn't work, you can send a screen shot of the cellular
config. page and the "modem info" tab on the configuration "Home" page
to wir...@connectone.com and they will take a look at it.

I give up.
WiReach (ConnectOne) support didn't answer My emails.
Cricket is no help either.

Anyone want to buy a WiReach?

I had the same problem with another modem (iCON 225) - so I used the
modem logging utility (new firmware version on their site) in the
Wireach ADMIN page, sent them the log file and they came back to tell
me that the dial string parameter was wrong in the CELLULAR page.
Try updating the new version and using the log function at the bottom
of the ADMIN page.

Phil do not give up so soon :) I am sure there is a solution to your
problem.
As suggested use the new firmware and log the modem activity,
download the result and send it to ConnectOne this will tell them
where the problem lies and so they will be able to give you a
solution. The process of logging the modem is very simple and you are
guided through it by the website. I hooe you will have the patience to
do it, get the solution and enjoy your WI-REACH.
Please do not forget to post here the results.
Regards
Ophir

Thanks HD and Ophir,
I hadn't noticed the new firmware update on the website.

I sent the log to tech support.
Maybe they will answer this time.

Hello Group,  great news!

It works!
I loaded 808.q18 today,, it says it is for 'enhanced logging capability'.
I noticed that after I rebooted the WiReach, it was showing connected.
I really didn't believe it,, but it's true. I think there may be more to q18 than just logging.

Dial String       #777
APN              CDMA
User Name    -my Cricket A600 phone number-
Password      Cricket     -- yes, upper case C.

WiReach tech support at wir...@connectone.com ,
worked hard on the fix, several emails went back and forth between Us,
but they found a "cure".  .  they are great!

I suggest that if You have an issue, with any modem,
whether it is on the list or not, to,
make sure You have the latest firmware loaded,
run a log and send it to tech support.

Ophir,,,,,,   this was sent via the WiReach Classic using the Cricket A600!!!
