Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have experience with Codehs for Python  and Carnegie Mellon's Computer Science Academy.  I have used Codehs in the past and am looking at possibly using Carnegie Mellon.  I like what I am hearing about the graphics

I have used Codehs' free version but I really appreciate the student management system and all of the resources that come with the Pro version.  Codehs provides a strong  foundation and has a certification test option.

If you have any comparisons to share I would really appreciate it!

TIA!

I see a similar question was posed in March.  For those who are using Carnegie, why do you think it is more engaging for the students?

Jennifer:

I am actually using both this year with different groups of students.  There are definite pros and cons to each.  I think it really depends on the students you have and what your goals for the class are.

Get in touch and I can share my experiences this year.

Amy

Hi - I’m currently using codeHS for Python3 and using the sandbox for the compiler on student projects. I’m looking to get the pro version for next school year. I also use codeHS for HTML Web Design and soon to be using for Cyber Security. I don’t know anything about Carnegie Mellon for Python.

One of the main reasons I use it is because it is geared toward high school students and the certifications that are offered.
