Dear CS Educators,
I hope this message finds you well. I'm excited to introduce myself to your CS community. My name is Quentin Prince, the new program lead for the MKE Hour of Tech program, an integral part of the MKE Tech Hub Coalition. As we approach Computer Science Week, we have some exciting opportunities for you and your students to get involved and make a meaningful impact.
The MKE Hour of Tech program is dedicated to igniting a passion for technology among students by connecting them with professionals and educators who can share their knowledge, insights, and experiences in the world of technology. We believe that your guidance and expertise play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students.
Computer Science Week, taking place from December 4th to December 10th, provides a perfect platform for you to get involved and inspire your students. Here are a few ways you can participate:
Facilitate an Activity: Dedicate an hour or more during Computer Science Week to lead an engaging tech-related activity in your classroom. It could be a coding workshop, a robotics demonstration, or any other activity that sparks interest in technology.
Host a Tech Event at Your School: Organize a tech-focused event at your school during Computer Science Week. It could be a career panel, a coding competition, or a showcase of student tech projects. Your event can open doors to exciting possibilities for your students.
Welcome Local Organizations and STEM Professionals: Sign up to have local tech organizations and STEM professionals visit your school to interact with your students. These interactions can provide valuable insights into real-world applications of technology.
We kindly encourage you to complete our volunteer form to express your interest and specify how you'd like to get involved. You can find the volunteer form here: https://www.mketech.org/hour-of-tech/#:~:text=MKE%20Hour%20of%20Tech%20is,reach%20out%20to%20Quentin%20Prince. This will allow us to coordinate and match your preferences with our program's needs.
Your active participation in MKE Hour of Tech can make a significant impact on your students, inspiring them to pursue careers in technology and computer science. By sharing your expertise and fostering a love for technology, you contribute to the growth of our local tech community.
I will be your point of contact for any questions or assistance you may need. You can reach me at quentin...@mketech.org.
Thank you for considering this invitation, and for your continued dedication to shaping the future of tech education in our community. Together, we can create a brighter and more tech-savvy future for our students.
We look forward to your participation during MKE Hour of Tech week and the positive impact you'll have on our students' lives.
Warm regards,
Quentin Prince
