Hello,
I have a science teacher looking to have students create a cell city through coding. Do any of you have suggestions as to what platform would be ideal for this?

Thanks,

I would suggest Scratch. Here is an example of an interactive cell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvckQ0LV4-w

For the cell city, I would have the dialogue be about the comparisons between the city function and the function of the cell. I used to teach 7th grade science and we did this project as well. The coolest one I ever had was a student who did Disney World.

Awesome idea!

Another option, if the students have access to tablets or Chromebooks is to use Octostudio, which is a new tool from the same research group who created Scratch. One benefit of Octostudio is you can easily export a .mp4 or animated gif of the project they create which makes the projects easier to share widely.
