UW-Whitewater's 7th Advanced Technology Auto Event

You are invited to attend UW-Whitewater's 7th Advanced Technology
Auto Events this coming April 26th. Here is the schedule of
presentations and vehicle display events.

1. Paul Scott ot Plug In America will deliver a popular talk from
12 Noon to 1 PM in Timmerman Auditorium, Hyland Hall, on the design,
performance and future availability of battery-powered electric
vehicles (BEV's) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV's).

2. The Advanced Technology Auto Show will run from 1 PM through 4
PM in the Northwest corner of Parking Lot 14 on the corner of Starin
and Prairie and will feature

a. hybrid electric vehicles from Zimbrick Honda, Madison, and
Smart Toyota (possibly a plug-in Prius), Madison;

b. at least one Chevy Volt (Burtness Chevrolet, Whitewater);

c. at least one Nissan Leaf (Kayser Nissan, Madison);

d. one large van that was converted to an electric vehicle by
Marquette engineering students;

e. one Star Smile Neighborhood Electric Vehilcle (NEV) provided
by Bob Mair;

f. NEV's provided by UW-W; and

g. hybrid electric vehicles (HEV's), contributed by faculty and
regional owners, including Ford Escape Hybrids, Honda Civic Hybrids,
Honda Insight Hybrids, both Gen I and Gen II, and Toyota Priuses.

3. Finally, from 4-5 PM in Upham Hall 145, representatives from
Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Nissan and Toyota will give 10 minute
PowerPoint presentations concerning their current and future electric
and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Bring your questions!

To attend the programs and/or participate in the Vehicle Show,
send an RSVP to

, indicating if you will bring a converted vehicle to display. I
will allocate display space for your vehicle and send information by
email about when and where to come the UW-Whitewater. Those not
bringing vehicles will receive the "where and when" and free parking
pass information.
