Marc Geller is one of the fortunate few Californians who leased
an all-electric Toyota RAV4 EV from 2001-2002, then purchased it
off-lease when Toyota made some available for private purchase.
During his 10-11 AM lecture, Mr. Geller will emphasize not only that
driving an electric car is a better driving experience but also that
driving electric cars can help us achieve our nation's goals of lower
carbon emissions, less pollution, lessen our dependence on foreign
petroleum and increase our economic and national security.
During the Advanced Technology Vehicle Showing from 11 AM to
2:15 PM, Smart Motors of Madison will display the new Gen III Prius
and the Camry Hybrid. Zimbrick Honda in Madison will display a Civic
Hybrid and the new Insight Hybrid. Kunes Country Ford of Delavan
will display Escape Hybrids and will discuss their new Fusion Hybrid
sedan. Green Autos of Janesville with display a Zenn Neighborhood
Electric Vehicle (NEV). University personnel will display several
E-Ride NEV's and discuss their experience driving these all-electric
vehicles during this past winter. Finally, university staff and
faculty will be displaying their personally owned Toyota Priuses,
Honda Civic Hybrids, Ford Escape Hybrids, Gen I Honda Insight Hybrids
and Daimler high-mileage SmartCars, and they will be happy to discuss
their long-term driving experiences and seasonal mileages.
Owners of hybrid or high-mileage automobiles are invited to
participate in the car showing. Details about participating can be
obtained by calling Paul Rybski at (262) 472-5766. A campus map can
