Health Check Graphs & Zone File Import in Route 53 Console
Health Check Graphs & Zone File Import in Route 53 Console
Two new enhancements to the Route 53 console are available today: zone file import and integrated health check graphs. With the zone file import feature, it is now even easier to migrate a domain into Route 53. The Route 53 console now lets you import standard DNS zone files that can be exported from many DNS providers or standard DNS server software such as BIND. When you create a new Route 53 hosted zone for your domain, you now have the option to paste your zone file directly into the Route 53 console, and Route 53 will automatically create the records in your hosted zone.

AWS Flow Framework for Ruby for Amazon Simple Workflow
AWS Flow Framework for Ruby for Amazon Simple Workflow
Using the AWS Flow Framework for Ruby, code is written in a programming model that is natural for Ruby programmers while the framework's pre-built objects and classes handle the details of the Amazon Simple Workflow APIs. The framework and Amazon Simple Workflow track the state of your application's processing steps and helps retry those steps that may have failed. This lets you spend more time writing code that delights customers and less time maintaining processing engines.

Developer Tools

Scale Out Java and Ruby Web Apps
The AWS SDK for Java now contains a Tomcat session handler backed by Amazon DynamoDB. Similarly, the AWS SDK for Ruby added a DynamoDB session store for Rack apps, such as those built using Rails or Sinatra. These session managers enable you to add web servers as your application receives more traffic, and easily share your user session state across all of the servers.

Simplify Amazon S3 Tasks with PHP
The AWS SDK for PHP introduced helper functions to make some common S3 tasks easier for developers. Call single functions to upload directories of files, download buckets of files, perform multi-part uploads on large files, and delete sets of objects that match a key prefix or regular expression. Take advantage of these and other helper functions on our S3 client.
