SUSE Now Available on AWS Free Usage Tier
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) is now available on the AWS Free Usage Tier. For the first 12 months of AWS, eligible customers can run SLES on Amazon EC2 free of charge for up to 750 hours per month on a t1.micro instance. Get started by deploying and testing your SLES-certified business applications and take advantage of the flexibility and scalability of the AWS Cloud.

Amazon RDS Supports New High Memory Instance
A new High Memory Amazon RDS database instance type (db.cr1.8xlarge) is now available for high performance database workloads. The db.cr1.8xlarge instance has 244GB of memory and 88ECUs of compute capacity. This instance type makes it possible to realize up to 20,000 IOPS for MySQL. These specifications make this instance type an ideal candidate for high performance workloads in enterprise, social media, mobile applications or gaming.
