Request for Disability Advocacy Support for Family in Crisis

Hello WHYSac,

 

I am reaching out regarding a single mother whose daughter has been in and out of crisis, including multiple 5150 holds and repeated hospitalizations for suicide attempts. She is currently receiving Medi-Cal and has access to psychiatric and psychological services; however, her condition has placed a significant financial and emotional strain on her mother.

 

The parent often has to supervise her 24/7 during her daughter’s episodes, which has caused her to miss substantial time from work. We are trying to help the family pursue disability services to ensure more consistent support and stability.

 

Could anyone recommend a resource or advocate who specializes in disability services for cases like this? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
