Dear District and High School Leaders,
I’m reaching out to share a summer opportunity for students. This program was originally intended for SCOE schools only, but we now have open seats available and would love to extend the opportunity more broadly. Below is some information about the program. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide additional details as needed. A flyer is also attached for your reference.
Please note: This summer program will take place at American River College, which may be outside your service area. Unfortunately, transportation to the college is not available or supported at this time.

The Dual Enrollment Summer Program, in partnership with American River College and SCOE, is excited to offer an in-person, supportive, and engaging college-connected experience for up to 75 students. Additionally, 20 students will have the opportunity to participate asynchronously.

Program Dates: June 16 – August 7

Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 9:00 AM – 4pm PM

Location: On-ground, in-person at ARC

Orientation: Mandatory, in-person on June 12th 6pm-8pm at the ARC Student Center

3 units each | UC/CSU transferable:
Courses Offered In-Person
  • HCD 382 – Learning Strategies for College and Life
  • ETHNS 300 – Introduction to Ethnic Studies
Course Offered Online-Asynchronous (20 seats)
  • HEED 300-  Health Science
We’re excited to offer this unique opportunity for up to 75 students to participate in person in a supportive, engaging, and college-connected summer experience, with an additional 20 students able to participate online. Students may enroll in ONE course.
Student Supports Include:
✔️ Targeted academic tutoring (1:8 ratio)
✔️ Peer mentoring
✔️ Career and college exploration
✔️ One-on-one counseling to develop individualized educational plans (dedicated counseling)
✔️ Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) bus and light rail for transportation to ARC
✔️ Access to ARC student support services like Beaver Cares (on-campus food pantry, basic needs services)
✔️ Field trip to a college/university campus
✔️ Opportunity for some* students to attend an Oakland A’s game vs. the Houston Astros on June 18
Eligibility: Students must have completed 8th grade or be at least 14 years old by June 16.
All of our students are welcome to participate! This opportunity is open to every student, no matter their academic background or past experiences. We believe in each student’s potential to succeed and grow. Support systems will be in place throughout the course to help students make informed decisions. If at any point a student needs to withdraw, they can do so in a way that protects their college GPA.
Please help us identify interested students ASAP so we can support them with their application and enrollment. Add names to the interest form below asap:

*Note: We have a limited number of tickets for the A’s game but are exploring other social events so all 75 students have the chance to participate in at least one.

Thank you for your partnership!

Saludos (Best),
