I am in need of your input - ASAP! We want to send out a letter soon
(in about 2 weeks) to ask for seed money from alumni. This amount
will be about $25 per person and then we can use this money to make
deposits on facilities and to order invitations, etc.
My question is this: If you were asked for a deposit, would you feel
more comfortable sending it to PO Box (and we would have the added
expense of the PO Box) or would you feel comfortable sending to a
residence.

I am also looking for someone to open a checking account for us under
the name of Watsonville High Class of 1987, which we can turn into a
savings after the reunion.

Thanks for all the help. So many people have stepped forward to
help! Thank you!

No needed expenses! Send it to someone local, who can set up a no-cost
checking account.

Better yet, a short term cd- I think my bank offers about 5% right now
for either 5 or 9 months (can't remember), or a free savings account
at about 2%. There's lot's of options.

I believe Erik Claus had opened an account for us for the 11-year
reunion, so he may actually have access to whatever funds we had left
over, if any. I haven't looked to see if he's joined our Google group
yet, but I'll e-mail him and ask about this...

A suggestion for the group might be to link whatever bank account we
open (or already have opened) to a PayPal (or similar) account. That
might make it easier for people to send in funds, and our "accounting"
person wouldn't have to make runs to the bank all the time... Just a
thought.

Phil
