Just to start some basic information for those of you just joining us,
the reunion committee is trying to set up a 21 year reunion for June
or July of 2008.

If you are reading this and would like to be involved in planning the
reunion, stay tuned and let us know where you can help! I will be
acting as 'coordinator' just so we have one person making sure all
areas are being covered.

If you volunteer to do something, I will take note and then I will
contact you (if you haven't been able to get me) about where we are on
it!

Some areas where we still need volunteers as of today are:

Finding classmates and their contact information
Financial Coordinator (needs to be local in Watsonville)
Coordinator for the day of Reunion (also needs to be local)

People to contact with information or for information for the
following areas:

If you have pictures to be used for the reunion send to Suzanne
(Thompson) Calkins
If you have contact info on a classmate, please contact Kym Hall

Thanks all for jumping on the bandwagon and helping!

I am disappointed! All indications I had were pointing to this year.
However, I will be glad to be a local person for whatever the needs
are.

Hi All-

I also thought we were going for a 2007 reunion... is it really too
late for that to happen?

I am sorry for this miscommunication. To make a LONG story short, I
tried to get the reunion plans going last Jan.
I put up a vote to those 'available' and the vote landed that we
postpone until 2008. I am sorry this wasn't obvious.
I have been putting posts on classmates about this, and thought we
were on the same page!
My apologies!

Hi Bill,

I think the $25 should be fine to start the account. In addition to
mailing the money, I think a PayPall account would be very convenient
for those of us that have email. I have an account set up already,
(ebay shopper). Additionally, if you are not able to locate someone
locally that has or can open an account, let me know. I still bank
with BofA in Watsonville. Whatever you need, I'm able to jump in.

Hi...I was thinking that it was going to be this year as well! Is
there a problem with having it this year?

I for one was getting a little disappointed that it would be this
year, because it wasn't looking like we were going to make it. So,
thanks for making it as a 2008 project! Hi everybody!

I think because of the time frame (we usually need at least a year to
put
all the pieces together) and because people need to plan their travel
plans
(we need to pick a date, send out invites, get responses, etc) doing
it in 2007
would be almost impossible, and it might really make the reunion less
attended
because of the lack of time to contact classmates.

I too am disappointed that we didn't get a reunion this year. We will
have to do a
21 this time and maybe we can get a 30 together ON TIME next time!

Please keep helping us. We need all the help we can get. The more
people
involved the less each person has to do, and that's my goal, give lots
a people a few
things to do and the over impact on everyone will be less!

Congratulations, Georgette!!!! Which brings up something else I was
thinking about over the weekend. What about childcare? Will we have
any options for childcare for out-of-towners whose parents or
relatives don't live in the area anymore? I guess I'm probably jumping
the gun since we don't even have a location yet. But just a thought.
And have we heard anything else about San Juan Oaks? - Kym

Have heard nothing about SJOaks yet... I'll give Deanne a call tonight
to see what's up. I didn't consider babysitting... I guess I still
have family in the area! I can work on that when we get closer. I
have some older family members (like 22 years olds) who I can maybe
hire. We'll have to discuss what the fee will be, etc!

Kym - can you please post (if you haven't yet) your NEW e-mail address
for those contacting us about the reunion. Or is it just for giving
you addresses? It might be handy for another person to have access to
it also at a later date in case people start e-mailing it like
crazy... I can only HOPE!!!! Also, thanks for all the hard work you
are putting into getting in contact with our classmates and working on
that letter! I really appreciate it!

Susan (& Bill of course!!!)

On the subject of places for the reunion, has anybody thought or
looked into the Mt. Madonna Inn? It's local, I hear the food is great,
and I think it's big enough. I believe they do big groups, and if
Deanna or whoever wants, I can look into it.

Hopefully this reply posts the right way. I'm replying from email and not
the Google site.

Anyway, The Mt. Madonna Inn is closed, mostly. It was sold a few years ago
and the current owners can't or don't want to get it together. They do not
have consistent hours of operation at all. I make the drive over the hill
daily and have seen them open only on a handful of weekends and days inn the
past year. While the view is good the venue is less than ideal and the road
is of great concern regarding safety, especially after an evening of
festivities.

Just my 2 cents.

Does anyone have an idea of how many people we are estimating? I've
been looking into a few other places. I called the Seascape Resort,
but they only accomodate 250 people. They suggested the Coconut
Grove. Also, any clue of how much we are thinking of spending per
person? If you guys give me some of this info, I can call the Hiatt,
Monterey Convetion Center and the Embassy Suites.
