As usual, this squish is filled with a microbead pillow ball. This one is a tight fit, so it might fool you - but I love the firm feel! If you like it a little softer, you can use fiberfill or the filling of your choice. Or add another round to each piece of the body before the round with the wings for a looser fit!

And of course, I've used Bernat Blanket for the Chicken Squish! Super bulky yarn make these round amigurumi animals quick to crochet, and ultra squishy and satisfying! You can switch yarn weights to change the size of the finished piece - just be sure to pick a hook size that gives you a nice sold fabric!

It wasn't until I was half way through making these bad boys that the perfect name came to me. I think I was in the process of smashing my third potato when the sound it made finally registered, and I had my name. You see, after the potatoes are boiled, they are placed between layers of a clean dish towel and pressed into flattened discs. At the moment the skin snaps it gives a pleasant "pop" sound, followed by a mellow "squish" as it's fully flattened.

Most will know that there is a stat squish planned for U37, but for those a bit more out of the loop. Just wanted to let you know. Expect numbers across the game to be reduced significantly, especially at high levels. For level 140s, expect your morale to be around the 60-90k range instead of the well over 1 million morale we are seeing on live right now. Hopefully this will give you a general metric of what to expect.

Since I have owned two Ultimaker 3 Extended printers in the past several months, I have an almost predictable issue where my first layer is too squished to the bed, causing there to be a minor single layer flare out on the first layer which at times has affected the quality of the surface of many of my prints - especially ones with dual extrusion lettering. I can send pictures if no one is familiar with this, but I have heard of others having the issue (and can't find those references now, of course).

So you can play it safe (recommended) and level the way you are doing now and use "initial horizontal expansion" to correct. Or if you aren't afraid of ruining your print head when the part comes loose you can just level higher up. I never do autolevel and when it's printing the brim or skirt I just adjust on the fly. I turn the 3 leveling screws exactly equal amounts until the brim is .4mm wide (if I want no microbrim) or nicely squished (if I want the part to stick really well).

This is very helpful, gr5. Thank you. I get the need for some squish and did know it as elephant's foot. Good reminders. I am comfortable with the adjustments on the fly and will give that a go. I also find it interesting that you don't do the auto bed leveling. That makes perfect sense! I often wondered what good manual adjustments would do, assuming you are in the ball park, if auto leveling would correct your manual leveling adjustments.

autolevel is unrelated to any of this other than that UM purposely levels things a bit low (for better adhesion). They do this such that where nominally you would expect the nozzle to just barely kiss the glass at Z=0, instead it kisses the glass around Z=0.03 or Z=0.05mm. Personally I like to squish more than that for even better adhesion.

But I wanted to try out the new squish bones, so what I did was moved the head of the bone to behind the nose, and changed the PhysBone to v1.1, and set it to have an angle limit of 0, with a Stretch Motion of 1, a Max Stretch of 0, and a Max Squish of 0.5. (Without the angle limit the nose just flops around instead of getting booped, which is not what I want!)

Are there any guides available yet for how to actually set up a squish bone? In particular I want to emulate something like the pressed button effect shown at the promo video at around 13 seconds in: New in #vrchat 2023.2.2: SquishyBones! - YouTube

At 2:40 he presses control t or in my case command t to transform, but he is then able to squish the image from both sides, where as i only squish the image from one side.

How do i make both the left and right side of the picture narrow like he does?

The popular Squish-a-Sauras Dinosaur just got a fun upgrade! The original pattern is made with worsted weight yarn but I decided to see if the pattern would work with the soft, squishy, and bulky Bernat Blanket Yarn. And it does! He is now super-sized!
