Did you fill out my survey yet? If not please do:

I want your feedback on some new creative ideas I am thinking of:

A couple other things not on the survey:

1) What do you think of bags of beads - like nice cabachons - amethyst, peridot, onyx, blue chalc... etc... in small plastic bags - maybe 50 beads/ bag in different sizes. This would be both for my customers who make jewelry to use on their own as well as to re-sell. Maybe include some beading wire in there as well?? I dont make jewelry ( no skills in that area - how ironic!) so let me know what you think in terms of sones/ quantities, etc... as well as should I include wire? If so what gauge and material? Anything else I should include in the bag/ kit?

2) I like to think hedge, which I think is esp relevant now. I am sure there will always be a market for jewelry, but its 100% going to shrink in the next year so the trick is to diversify in time. I am thinking of something totally new - not sure if I would sell on same website or different. LED lights. Something that is practical and saves you money. I would probably start with the simple ones - the stick on battery lights, maybe the mini flashlights, that sort of thing... maybe brand them and include some promo material. Theoretically, from just YOUR perspective, would you be willing to give a try retailing a product like this? Not looking for a committment! Just gauging interest. Whatever I decide to stock will be super cool and practical.

Looking forward to your feedback.

This past 2 weeks (kids out of school) seems like forever - I mean FUN! Lots of mtn biking, sledding, hanging out, etc. I really enjoy having them around. Its going to be hard going back to the work schedule. I can't wait til summer :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Thanks,

Aaron

How about simple-to-make "make your own jewelry" kits?  They would be a great thing to do for parties.

Dear Aaron,
I like your idea of expanding your product line!
I have been shifting my product line from minerals/ crystals/ fossils
to include wirewrapping, then to include A-Z semiprecious stone beads, and large accent beads. I am taking "crash courses" in beading, jewelry design, and of course the most important   "marketing"!!!!!
I am on etsy as    www.mineralman.etsy.com
I am, constantly learning , but can share a few observations.

You seem to use the terms beads and cabachons the same ?
I consider beads drilled, either top to bottom or side to side .,
and cabs flat back polished ready for a setting or ring, or a large cab could be wirewrapped into a pendant.
Would a kit of cabs include rings or settings for them to go into?
A bag of beads could include (lots of instructions!) necklace bead wire, crimp beads, jump rings/or/ split rings, clasps.
Maybe a separate kit " all the tools needed", some people would already have their own tools, but might not have "taken the jump" to getting all of the findings in sterling silver.
Another idea for a kit: selling a large accent stone bead, wire to wrap and make a pendant, leather necklace cord, or a premade leather necklace waiting for the last crimp.
Maybe 2 size kits, 5 pcs. or 25 pcs.

Just a few ideas to contribute.
I really enjoy reading the forum, Thanks Aaron         Patrick

Hi Aaron,

How are things going, it is good to see the business is still running.

We have taken a bit of a back seat over the last couple of years and are now looking to restart selling again. I was trying to look at our wholesale account but can not find the log on details anywhere and the memory has also failed me. Would it be possible to forward the details back to us.

Hi Stephen,

Nice to hear from you!
Wow, this is a very old email!

Please send me your email address and I will email your login info... I think this reply may go to a larger group.

And to place an order you can do that directly on www.wholesalegemshop.com without the need to login. This is actually a great time to place an order -- I just  started a coupon system and have some coupons that are valid for the next couple days -- up to $100 off your order.
