What would you reccommend be included in such a kit?

Everyone else - what other types of findings would you like me to carry?

How about simple-to-make "make your own jewelry" kits?  They would be a great thing to do for parties.

Subject: [wholesalejewelryforum:78] Some new ideas

Did you fill out my survey yet? If not please do:

I want your feedback on some new creative ideas I am thinking of:

A couple other things not on the survey:

1) What do you think of bags of beads - like nice cabachons - amethyst, peridot, onyx, blue chalc... etc... in small plastic bags - maybe 50 beads/ bag in different sizes. This would be both for my customers who make jewelry to use on their own as well as to re-sell. Maybe include some beading wire in there as well?? I dont make jewelry ( no skills in that area - how ironic!) so let me know what you think in terms of sones/ quantities, etc... as well as should I include wire? If so what gauge and material? Anything else I should include in the bag/ kit?

2) I like to think hedge, which I think is esp relevant now. I am sure there will always be a market for jewelry, but its 100% going to shrink in the next year so the trick is to diversify in time. I am thinking of something totally new - not sure if I would sell on same website or different. LED lights. Something that is practical and saves you money. I would probably start with the simple ones - the stick on battery lights, maybe the mini flashlights, that sort of thing... maybe brand them and include some promo material. Theoretically, from just YOUR perspective, would you be willing to give a try retailing a product like this? Not looking for a committment! Just gauging interest. Whatever I decide to stock will be super cool and practical.

Looking forward to your feedback.

This past 2 weeks (kids out of school) seems like forever - I mean FUN! Lots of mtn biking, sledding, hanging out, etc. I really enjoy having them around. Its going to be hard going back to the work schedule. I can't wait til summer :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Aaron:  When I make up packages for my students I include all the material they will need to finish off the project.  Including O rings, crimps whatever is going to be needed I include.  This has been a successful part of my teaching and much easier than hearing one complain constantly I can't find anything........  So if you do a complete set it may be easier.  Leslie
