Use a wagon to pick then up and get them to the plot.
Since this will be my last year doing this shit, yes RJ convinced me to , I have a flat bed wagon that works. It actually has air in the tires. I have another small wagon or if anyone else has one that would be great. We need to have all equipment located and brought to either my house, Colin’s house or RJ’s by the morning of the Sunday before. The equipment trailer needs to be loaded with as much shit as possible at that time. A comprehensive list of shit to bring needs to be compiled as well as a list of shit that will be provided by the Hogs people or rentals. Do we need big generator again? Has Colin found his generator? Ice, Ice chests, beer, juice boxes, Sam’s run for supplies/ necessities? Etc.I have about 6 cans of sterno and I have no idea where the sauce bottles are. I still have the 2 large chafing pans and one smaller round one. Does anyone have the load in list from last year? BTW, y’all get together and figure out who is going to head this shit up next year because it has turned into a lot more work than fun.
As happened with Jazz Fest, this has grown too large for my participation. I will in the future continue to help from the sidelines if needed but I will not be responsible for the cleaning and logistics in the future. This takes too much time and energy and not everyone who is involved pulls equal weight and responsibility.
The ASSHOLE has spoken!
Guys and Gals, I very much enjoy my time with all of you. Very special people and good friends. This has gotten out of hand. I suggest a much smaller gathering in the future where we have a satellite soiree” where we invite family, friends and whomever and ask for donations to benefit the cause as well as solicit. The logistics and stress caused by the growth of this benefit has weeded out the small guys such as we are and has left us striving to keep up with those who have a whole bunch more money and time to devote. I’d still like to benefit the cause but I feel things have grown too large for our means. I would like one of the team “ founders/ captains” to forward my concerns to Rene/ Becker and see if there is any possible way we can do a smaller deal to help without going through all the hassle.
As participants, we may bring our own or buy at the event. I have always brought my own and put in trailer. Anyone wishing to stock the stuff in the trailer is welcome to do so before we head to City Pork.
Get emp butts from Sweet.
I updated the google spread sheet as to what is in the trailer, Colin can update as well because I don’t know all what is in the boxes. I’ll work on the poles, tie wraps and tape.
RJ, I think we used 2 (5) gallon bottles of oil last year. One for each fryer?
I also have the propane loaded in the trailer for the fryers and have devised a way to heat the mac&cheese and keep it hot. I’ll add the water jug to the trailer for chafing dishes. We do not have a generator yet and since we won’t have the oven, we do not need a big one. Colin, where is yours and does it run?
Question, do any of you have access to a stainless steel turkey frying pot? I have one but would like another. I want to use for heating mac&cheese in a sort of steamer/ chafing dish configuration using a crawfish pot.
I’ll call him, you try as well.
