Hi Dan,

I'm still thinking that your dead-man cutdown timer never got reset as it all starting coming down about the same time as your cutdown timer value from when you had powered everything on. Unlikely that sunrise caused it to burst since those Hwoyee's are very UV resistant....unless there was a weak spot in it from handling or manufacturing.

I don't recall exactly when you went to internal power, but think it was about an hour or so before launch as I recall. If you have a record of when you went to internal batteries...then we can look at that to confirm the timing.

I think the balloon would've stopped traveling very far in the last 3 minutes of descent due to the light winds near the surface....so probably has landed within 500 feet of that last position report...somewhere in that wide open field....it should be very visible since any crops that have been planted won't have come up yet.

Hi Dan,

Did you go out to try to located your payload?....I imagine a farmer will find it soon as it's planting season. If they are Amish however (there are a number of Amish in that area), then they might not have email accounts to respond to you.

Is there any telemetry that we can use to verify cutdown time? We sent the command from both Linux and pc sources...

We know a command was recieved because the data rate was changed to 120 seconds which should have reset the timer.

We also know that the new cut down code was poorly tested.

I'll second that.
