Hello All,
This is a photo from 2 days ago.  We have repeatedly been seeing small slicks such as this.  Anybody know what it could be?   Also, today July 25, there is an extensive bloom down on our corner of the pond and extended towards Thoreau cove.  I have not been down to Sachems to check today, but definitely bad here.

Could that be gas/oil from a motored boat?  I also saw that on my side two weeks ago.

Was the boat using the motor? Even if not, it shouldn’t be in the pond.

Never saw a boat but Katy suggested it might be from a motor when I saw it last week. Photo to follow.

Cleaning up after our recent wind event I was dragging a pine branch through the water.  It was then I noticed an oily slick where the pine branch had been.  See photos I think that what people are seeing is from the pine VOC called terpene.
