Just got my barrel

Do I need to clean it before I use it? I just got in and am slightly confused if I can go ahead and swell it and clean it, or if I need to do the cleaning process first!

Hi Kristin, go ahead and put water in it to make sure it’s not leaking, if it leaks leave the water a while until the wood swells against the hoops and stops leaking, since you are using it for alcohol that pretty much cleans it. At your service Clay
