Hello Jamboree Scouts for T1632 and T1633,

Please read the letter below on the change in the Jamboree Contingent
fee. You can see a .pdf of the letter at our White Buffalo Jamboree
Troops google group in the Files section. When Circle Ten contracted
with the Travel Agency two years ago the fee for airfare was unknown.
The budget was estimated at $300 roundtrip. The actual airfare will
come in at over $400. The Council is setting the increase in the
Jamboree Contingent Fee at $100. Scouts will pay $2500. The hard
deadline for all fees is April 30, 2010. If you have any questions
please contact us at wbjam...@gmail.com

The next Jamboree Troop meeting is in the Santurary next Monday
January 25, 2010 at 7pm at St Andrews Presbyterian Church on Skillman
St in East Dallas. This is the same location as our last meeting in
September 2009.

Please bring your completed Jamboree medical form. Summer Camp/
Philmont/any other medical form is unacceptable. The national office
sent you the jamboree medical form via email and a separate email with
the passcode to access the form. If you did not receive the emails or
no longer have them you can contact the Jamboree Division at the
National Office in Irving TX to have the form and passcode resent. The
National Office phone number is 972-580-2000. Ask for the Jamboree
Division.

Re: 2010 National Jamboree Travel and Fee Detail

Date: January 10, 2010

Over two years ago when the initial planning for the Circle Ten
Contingent tour began, the one major expense item that was not known
was what the airfare costs would be. The travel planning company was
not able to obtain fare commitments from the airlins until late 2009.

You are probably aware of the issues the airline industsry has faced
over the last several years. Fuel costs, more security, and fewer
flights and passengers have been a challenge for them, not to mention
the travelers. Our estimate of what the airline fare cost might be was
based on the information available at the time. Now that the final
fares are in, the fares are higher than anticipated.

The stated cost for the jamboree and tour was $2,100 plus the airline
ticket charge, which was estimated to be $300 for a total of $2,400.
The increase in the airfare has come in at over $400. The final cost
will be held to $2,500 by trimming the budget in other areas.

In verifying the fare was not out of line, several different options
were explored. The information gathered confirmed that a reduction in
fare cost could not be secured accommodating our contingent and its
travel demands.

We appreciate the financial pressures this may create and will work
iwth you as we can as you make the final payment.

Yours in Scouting,

Charles D. Holmes
Circle Ten Council Jamboree Chairman
