We are just sixteen weeks away from our trip to the National Jamboree
- BSA's 100th Anniversary Celebration!
Medical Forms are done. Trip Reservations are being finalized. This
month we are submitting names for airline tickets, roommate lists,
Name tag list and more.. We should know our airline information in
June.
Please make your final Jamboree payments now. The Council Jamboree
Committee is making its final payment to our tour company World
Strides this week.
The mandatory Council Jamboree Shakedown is Saturday May 1-2. Please
arrive at Camp Wisdom by 9am. Please eat breakfast before you arrive.
This is an overnight campout. Please bring standard camping gear for
one night. Tents are not required. We will use the Shakedown to
organize our two-troop campsite, work on our one gateway, check out
all the equipment the council is providing, and making note of other
equipment we will need. All 14 Circle Ten Council Jamboree Troops will
be in attendance. This campout is mandatory. We expect the campout to
be over by 12noon Sunday. Please make arrangements for your Scout(s)
to attend for the full campout.
Our next and last formal troop meeting is May 17, 2010 at St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. This is the same location as the
last two meetings but in a different part of the campus.
At the troop meeting we will review the personal equipment list, Bobby
Hartmann will give a demostration on packing the small and large
duffle bags. We will distribute the small and large duffle bags at the
meeting. THE FIRST TIME THE DUFFLE BAGS WILL BE USED IS FOR JAMBOREE.
DO NOT TAKE THEM TO SUMMER CAMP. Please attend the meeting in full
uniform. We will take pictures of every Scout. We will talk about our
troop t-shirt, hat, and patches.
The large duffle bags will go up to the Jamboree early. The Council
will transport the large bags. There will not be an additional cost to
transport the large duffle bags. The Scouts and Scouters on the trip
will use the small duffle bag and a backpack in New York, Philadephia,
and Washington D.C..
Full Uniform is reqired on the Jamboree Trip. Jeans, other colored
shorts are not allowed. Full Uniform is down to the BSA socks. To save
money borrow uniforms from friends not attending or you can find
uniform parts on ebay. Troop 42 has extra uniforms of various sizes.
Troop 42 is offering shirts and shorts at $5/each piece. Quantities
and sizes are limited. Please contact Grace Davidson at
