American Truck Simulator (ATS) is a truck simulator game developed and published by SCS Software. It was announced on September 6, 2013[1] and released on February 2, 2016.[2] It can be considered a spiritual successor to the 18 Wheels of Steel franchise. In February 2016, it reached an all-time peak of 19,138 players.[3] The latest version update for American Truck Simulator is 1.50.1.14.

Before you start your career as a ground logistics manager, you will first have to create your profile. You will choose your avatar, your name, your preferred truck, and your company logo. You will then choose your difficulty level (the higher, the more realistic). Before you start your multi-million dollar logistics company, you will first have to complete quick jobs using provided trucks. Before purchasing your first truck, you must earn at least $100,000 or obtain a loan from the bank. As the player completes jobs and levels up, they will unlock skills. Skills can be used to upgrade fuel efficiency and long distance cargoes as well as unlocking hazardous, fragile, and important deliveries. Eventually, once you gain enough, you can buy a new garage or upgrade your original, which will allow you to store more trucks. From this point you can hire NPC drivers from a recruitment agency and provide each with a truck from a truck dealer to earn even more cash.

A feature that has been unique in American Truck Simulator is that truckers have to choose where to unload the cargo they are hauling when they reach the destination depot, a function that has been introduced later to Euro Truck Simulator 2. A "desired spot" (which gives out more experience points but is harder to park) and a "safe spot" (easier to park but with fewer experience points) are usually available at every depot. Alternatively, the trucker can skip parking with the price of forfeiting all parking experience points.

Although American Truck Simulator currently only features 13 states out of 50 (and it is unlikely that the entire US map will be completed anytime soon), all states are immense and detailed and feature long roads and large cities for players to explore. It takes about three hours in real time to travel from Bellingham, Washington to Brownsville, Texas in game, meaning it will be a very large game once the entire map is completed.

The base game featured the states of California and Nevada on release, with a total of 30 cities (now 32). Arizona was released four months later as a free DLC, adding 15 cities (now 16). The newest DLC, released on May 16, 2024 added the state of Nebraska with 12 cities. In total, there are currently 218 cities implemented.

The scale of the map was 1:35 on release. On June 23, 2016, SCS Software announced that the scale would be changed to 1:20 (1.75x larger), approximately matching the 1:19 scale in Euro Truck Simulator 2.[4] The rescale was implemented in update 1.5 released on December 12, 2016.[5] It also included Santa Maria, a completely reworked Oxnard, and countless additions and improvements to the map.

During the 2020 Christmas live stream, SCS Software revealed that, as the oldest state in American Truck Simulator, California would be reworked to reflect current mapping standards.[6] The rework was officially announced on May 7, 2021.[7] For more information, see California#Rework.

An American Truck Simulator server guarantees the best long-term multiplayer sessions. You can download the software for dedicated ATS servers using the SteamCMD command-line client. You do not need to have an additional license for this. Keep on reading to find out how to carry out the installation and setup.

ATS Dedicated Server software, on the other hand, ensures an optimal gaming experience. You can run the application continuously on externally rented server hardware and do not have to buy another license or DLCs (downloadable content) for the simulator. Recreational truckers can join the server at any time, accept new orders and finish routes. Hosting with a professional provider means that you can rely on powerful hardware and a fast broadband connection.

Your hardware should have sufficient computing power for your ATS server to run smoothly. The performance requirements will depend on various factors such as the modifications or the number of players active. The following are the minimum requirements:

You can rent powerful hardware for your ATS server from IONOS. There are three different server models to choose from with a guaranteed broadband connection up to 400 Mbit/s. The servers are available in different price-performance classes. The servers have the following features:

To give you a better overview of the server models, we have outlined five scenarios for an American Truck Simulator dedicated server in the table below along with the best server solutions from IONOS for each of these scenarios.

Choose a cloud server from IONOS today to create and host your own American Truck Simulator server. Add more performance capabilities as the amount of players increase or cancel your subscription when you no longer need the server.

The first step is to establish a remote connection to the rented server hardware. The Windows Server can be accessed using the Remote Desktop Protocol, which is supported by default. The setup is conveniently done through the IONOS Customer Center:

Once connected to the hosting environment, you can install SteamCMD. This tool is a command-line version of the Steam Client. This allows you to connect to the public Steam servers and download applications at any time. Proceed as follows to carry out an installation on the server:

You can now download and install the official ATS server software American Truck Simulator dedicated server using SteamCMD. Open the client and log in anonymously to the public Steam servers by running the following command:

The server_config.sii file is automatically generated with the default configuration as soon as the ATS Dedicated Server application runs for the first time. Simply run the amtrucks_server.exe, which you can find in the subfolder .\bin\win_x64 in the server folder.

Since the other two configuration files are still missing, the server start cannot be carried out. However, the server_config.sii is now under the path .\Documents\American Truck Simulator in the user folder, which you can adjust with an editor.

The other two configuration files with the information on the game world, DLCs and mods need to be created after this. Simply create a new session in American Truck Simulator or select a saved game. Since the game must be installed for this, it is recommended that you export the configuration files using your personal computer:

Your American Truck Simulator server must be associated with an authentication token to make it available on the listing of official multiplayer servers. The token can be created in the Steam Game Server Account Management tool as follows:

You must also enable TCP/UDP ports 27015 and 27016 in the Firewall Settings to make your American Truck Simulator server accessible online. Your server will be displayed in the overview of available multiplayer servers once these ports are open.

You can easily set up your own Factorio server using a dedicated server. If you want a server that is stable and available online 24/7, we recommend hosting a Factorio server in the data center of a professional provider. What are the software requirements and how exactly do you install, configure and run a dedicated Factorio server? Find out in this article.

Hi everyone. I have found a arduino sketch for my Arduino Nano but I am an absolute NOOB when it comes to programing. This sketch is for an American truck simulator 18 speed shifter that I built but I keep running in to this error code.

If you need to use Joystic you need to declare it in program yourself for example "int N=3;" , or try to check libraries if you use them otherwise, it looks like you didn't copy the entire code of the sketch, but rather the top part.
