A member of South Whidbey Tilth donated a fifty pound bag of Calphos. Can anyone use it and take it off our hands?
Calphos contains rock phosphate and calcium (Ca). The label says 20% elemental Ca. Looking on the web, it appears this Ca is calcium carbonate (like lime). Running the chemistry and math, if all the Ca is in the form of calcium carbonate then Calphos would be 50% lime. KiS Organics website (www.kisorganics.com/products/soft-rock-phosphate) says Calphos is “at least 25% lime”. So Calphos is somewhere between 25 and 50% lime.
