WhereYouGo download errors

Hi,

 

I try to use the browser to download to WhereYouGo and download

 

CGUID:

5dd201d1-ba31-46b8-b5e1-29bed8a4fca7

 

When tap the download button I get Connecting – Logging in – Downloading – Downloading: Error

 

I downloaded the Pocket PC Device version to my computer and then move it to the right directory on my android.  Then when I open WhereYouGo I get a small black message box that says invalid cartridge and the name of the file.  When I click the Start I get an information screen that says No Wherigo cartridge available.

 

Is there a setting that I can change that might make this work, or is this software just not going to work on my LG phone?

 

Any help getting this up and running would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

the "invalid cartridge" problem is most likely because newer versions of Android (since 4.4 KitKat) don't allow you to write on SD card. WhereYouGo requires write access because it saves savegame files in that folder. Either put it in internal folder (e.g. the default folder in Settings->Main->Wherigo folder) or try to find a way how to allow SD card write access for your device (some manufacturers allow this in their settings).

Hi,

in version 0.9.1 I added a way to request access to external storage in Android 6 and higher. This should solve the issue with "invalid cartridges".
