Hey Ethan, Is it possible to make Google Calendars both send and receive calendar updates to WheresTheGig?

Hi Aaron--

When I first implemented the Google exports, I thought about doing this.  Unfortunately, there are too many complications when it comes to figuring out how to create a WheresTheGig event from a Google Calendar entry, mainly in dealing with venues.  Although you can put event location information into a Google Calendar entry, it just seemed to me that there is no advantage to the user.  WheresTheGig specializes in efficient workflow for gig entry, so it should be faster to enter gigs with WheresTheGig in comparison to Google.  Gig templates and "Add Gigs By Month" are two things that come to mind.

So, in short, yes I considered it, but decided that it wouldn't be worth the work.

By the way, I know you were having some issues with exporting to Google calendar.  Is this working for you now?  If not, I'm willing to put the time in to identify the problem.

All my best,

--Ethan

Well, that's good news... sort of.  I'll see if I can reproduce.

Hi Aaron--

I ran the export as you from my test system and it was successful with no errors.  Can you try creating another subcalendar on Google, and then clicking the "Change destination calendar" link on the Google export page and select your new calendar.  Export to the new calendar and see if you get the same error?

Thanks,

--Ethan
