Change Event Title for sync through gcal?

Hiya,

Been a user for a little over a year and LOVE the functionality, and that this forum exists for improvements.. thanks you!

Here's my Q;

I have an auto-sync set up so that when I add gigs it adds them to my gig calendar in google, but I'm in like a hundred bands and it would be nice to change the name convention for the event title. Right now it names them "Venue: gig type (status)" where I'd prefer to see "Event Name: Venue (status)" (I list the band's name in the Event Name field) so that I can know who I play with at a glance. Is there a way to change this or maybe bake in a way that I can decide what gets pushed to gcal myself? I would'nt need it to change per gig, just as an overall rule or events

That's a great idea!  I also play in a lot of bands, and use WheresTheGig to coordinate all of my gigs.  I put the band I'm playing with in the gig "Client" field so it shows up on my gig list, but I can see that using the event name would be a good way to do it.

I'll put your idea on my TODO list.  I'm currently in the middle of a pretty involved feature request; to provide a staffing feature, which is a bit like the personnel assignment but a lot more complex.  I'll see about getting your request in when I finish that up.

Hi Karli--

Your calendar feed should now show the event name in the summary, if one is specified.  Please let me know if this is working for you.  It may take up to a day for your calendar clients to request an updated ICal feed from WheresTheGig, so check this out tomorrow.
