We will be posting everything we know / we have done / we think you
can do to help yourself, hopefully, someone from Google will be
following up our case seriously.
I've asked them to provide pictures and written proof of this damaged
shipment, which i will be posting in just a bit.
In the past week, I've been trying to contact DHL HK, DHL USA,
Brightpoint (the shipper), Google, HTC USA, HTC HK, and it turned out
to be in vain.
As of today, I'm still yet to receive any official reply regarding my
order, whether a replacement will be issued, or if I will get any
refund.
For those of you who can read chinese, Apple Daily HK has it covered
on today's (31st Jan) paper,
http://hk.apple.nextmedia.com/template/apple/art_main.php?iss_id=20100131&sec_id=4104&subsec_id=12731&art_id=13681961.
I wish by creating this group, all of us suffering from Google's best
customer service can stand up and fight for our own rights.
So all of you out there, if your Nexus One was stolen / damaged / lost
during transit with DHL, please join this group, i will be updating
this group and let you know what we have done and what we can do.
now, still waiting for google response. In addition, I am very
disappointing that google have not provided good customer care on this
issue.
PLEASE RESPONSE ASAP google
thanks
Today I was contacted by DHL and HTC.
DHL has escalated my case to their customer care support department,
and I was assigned an agent to follow my case. They promised to reply
to me by next monday, even if they hear nothing from the sender. DHL
has also informed me that under certain circumstances, the receivers
will be able to claim damages from them, even if they didn't pay
directly to DHL for the shipping charge. I will update you guys with
that information after I've contacted DHL again.
HTC HK also gave me a call regarding the lost phone, the asked me for
the order number, and promised to file a report to Google (AGAIN), but
frankly i don't expect anything from them, they've been trying hard i
know, but to no avail.
Finally for those who had their phone lost and hear no news from any
parties, I have a good news for you (sorta). I phoned my card issuing
bank and confirmed that Chargeback is possible, given that you have
sufficient supporting documents, such as a written proof from DHL
indicating your shipment is either damaged or lost during transit,
with the tracking number on the invoice. Also, you will need the proof
of purchase to associate the shipment with your order. For cards
issued by Hang Seng Bank, you can submit the dispute in written form,
indicating your card number, related transaction, together with all
supporting documents, to any HSB branches, they have the case
investigated within 4 weeks.
If you're not using Hang Seng Bank, you'd better give the bank a call
to see what you will have to do, but basically the procedures should
be more or less the same.
I will keep everyone of you posted, peace!
It's just a quick update, more to come later today.

Android Team email me today and say they are investigating the issue.
Congratulations! Don't forget to give your card centre a call for the difference in exchange rate! ;)

About the refund, the bank has returned the exchange difference to my
card (that was quick), so basically things are settled. But I know
there are people out there with their phone missing. :( If there is
anything i can help, just ask here!
BTW I've placed a new order with google, the phone should arrive at my
city this evening, I seriously hope nothing bad happens to this
shipment.
