I transfered my SIM card from Treo 650 to unlocked N95 and I was
instantly
able to make/receive phone calls, but I was not able to connect to the
Internet
to transfer data for my WHERE widget.
Here are my settings that allow my unlocked N95 to connect
to the Internet after a long and friendly call to AT&T tech support.
Open Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points
Left soft key Options > New access point
Access point name 'Medianet' // name it anything that you'll remember
// the rest of these settings are critical in UPPER/lower case,
punctuation, symbols, et cetera
Data Bearer 'packet data'
Access point name 'wap.cingular'
User name '
W...@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Prompt password 'NO'
Password 'CINGULAR1'
Authentication 'Secure' // within Authentication choose advance
Settings
Homepage '
http://device.home'
// while you are still setting up this new access point
Left soft key > Options > Advanced settings
- Network type 'IPv4'
- Phone IP address 'Automatic'
- DNS address 'Automatic'
- Proxy server address '
wireless.cingular.com'
- Proxy port number '80'
Right soft key Back > Back > Access points // here you should see
// the Access point name that you have just created
// then I turned off N95 and re-inserted SIM card
// I could probably done this with the SIM card in the device
// on return to Open Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points
// I noticed my recently created 'Medianet'
// and another 'MEdiaNet' configuration that maybe is the Treo 650's
