All,
Please see below – I suddenly remembered a friend of a friend does this for a living!!!
Some useful information here – I see no harm in letting him put together a proposal to see what his help would cost us – we’re going to need professional help at some point anyway?
If there are no serious objections should I ask him to proceed?

Hi Andrew
I was wondering why you needed my contact details - now I know why! Happy to help.
I'm about to leave for the airport at the end of our holiday in Singapore, so will be in a better position to advance this for you early as soon as I'm back.
However, when a freehold is being offered 'on a plate' like this, it is a good idea to give it some decent consideration, since buying the freehold any other way can be so difficult, from an unwilling seller.
The critical success factors for a project like this are:
1. Getting at least a majority (13) to take part, to serve the 'Acceptance Notice' that buys you two more months, but which doesn't commit you.
2. Getting 2-3 flat owners who are willing and able to become directors to run the new freehold company
3. Funding the project, especially paying for any non-participants.
Just to move things along, can you please tell me the address of your flats and, if you know it, the deadline for responding to the freeholder's notice (a scanned in copy of that notice would be ideal)?
When I'm back I can send you a proposal detailing far more about this type of transaction. I do think, for the number of flats, it would be worth our while becoming involved, but the proposal would outline everything, including fees.
Good to hear from you and I look forward to progressing this in the next few days.
Alex

Alex, hi
I’m in on a business trip in Panama:
Our current freeholder has served notice that he intends to sell the freehold (£88,800 for 24 flats) and we’re just petitioning other neighbours to see if they are interested in purchasing the freehold too?
Do you know of any interesting websites we should be looking at; or are is this something that you would be interested in guiding us through – and if yes, what sort of fees/expenses are likely??
Any thoughts welcome here?
