In the FFCC Remaster, the offline multiplayer function have been removed, and require you to connect online for any multiplayer sessions. On the other hand, the lack of offline multiplayer will allow you to cross play with other platforms regardless of your console.

In an online multiplayer session, you and up to 3 other players will be able to play together in their journey. When in multiplayer, one of the members will need to carry the Crystal Chalice together with your party. Coordination is the key!

It is the first Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game that allows players to play together online and it allows players who own a Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS to play together at the same time using the Pollux Engine, an Engine created by Square Enix.

i only hope there also is an option to let you only play with ps4 players if you dont want to play with the others. since pc users can easily change from controller to m/kb before the game start. and nintendo online is the worst so you can expect plenty of lag if you play against those guys. also there will be all kind of problems when you hook up all four to connect to each others. so thats why i prefer to play with ps4 players only.
