This is a shout out for the WW riding with me on Shawn and Nancy's Memorial Day Ride. I crashed and everyone stopped to take care of me until a kind passerby took me to the hospital (I am fine except for a possible rib fracture and mild concussion and the inability to remember the name of the Good Samaritan who drove me to the hospital). Nancy, Shawn, Ed, Robert, Neil, Sam and Mike all rode with me today. Neil brought my helmet to the ED so Dr. Powers could inspect the damage. Rosalee, I believe, transported my bike back to Shawn's. The WW are the Best!

Nice to hear that you are okay!

Your good samaritan is most likely a volunteer associated with the North Warren FD located at 89 Rockland RD.

Another helpful person stopped by in similar fashion.  He said that he heard the call come in over the radio, but everyone was at some sort of joint training exercise.  He knew there would be some delay, so he came out in his private vehicle.

I think your guy did the same.  He just showed up and didn't really ask if there was a problem.  He just asked if you needed to be transported.  Seemed like he had a radio too.

Hang in there Len.  You are one tough cookie, and I know I will see you on the road again soon.  Shawn and Nancy are going to mark that pothole with a special message for VDOT.  They just left here with the paint!

Neil,
Thanks for coming to the ED and bringing the helmet. Your reasoned input helped Janet and I with our decision to forgo the CT scan. Lord knows I have gotten enough radiation just doing my job. Head is ok today and no headache but my chest is worse with lots of little crunches at different spots with movement. And I gotta work tomorrow.
Len.

You will heal fast! How fortunate you were able to avoid the CT.
Talk about buckets of radiation!

Len, you are incredible!  I heard from a little bird that you were back at work on Tuesday! Thanks for all you do for other people. I hope your ribs heal fast!
