Update on the Shenandoah Rail Trail - 05 Jan 2026

Despite the apparent will of the people, the Commonwealth Transportation Board is set to vote on whether to approve transfer of Commonwealth funds for the Shenandoah Rail Trail to the VPRA (Virginia Passenger Rail Authority) by vote on 06 Jan 2026.

It is confounding as to the need for a vote now when VDOT just arrived at its Phase 3 presentation in early December.  There has been no period of public input.  If nothing else, the lack of transparency here should be concern to every citizen of the Commonwealth.
