Sun. 5/8 2PM C&O ride, wx permitting

I plan to ride on the C&O canal towpath on Sunday 5/8 at 2 PM. (Yes, I know it is Mother’s Day. My mother prefers to do things on a different day, so I am free.) We will meet at the Brunswick boat launch parking area and ride to Shepherdstown and back with a snack stop in Shepherdstown. Total ride length 36 miles.

Weather is calling for up to 1-2 inches of rain in places over the weekend, so the gravel towpath may be too wet to ride. I will make a weather decision here as soon as I can, definitely by noon Sunday.

This is a ride for all comers. Pace will be about 10-12 mph. Options for shorter or longer rides exist since it is an out and back.

I am still looking for women to join me for a GAP ride on Memorial Day weekend. I will cancel the reservations I have made if I don’t have anyone to commit to the ride by this Friday.

Hope the weather allows us to get together Sunday!

Slop.Cold. High water. Wind. These are a few of my least favorite things on a ride, so I am canceling for today. Next Sunday I cannot ride but will try for the final group ride the following Sunday; watch this forum for details.
