These items were sent from the WW website-based email system earlier.  Some folks don't get those as they can be denoted as spam by mail clients.  Trying here as an alternate way to reach people.

Thanksgiving Day Ride

  • What:  Thanksgiving Day Ride - 24.4 Miles
  • When:  Thursday, 28 Nov 2024, 10:00 AM (note this is a push time!)
  • Where:  1313 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601
Join us for our traditional "Pre-Gluttony-Ride".  This is a ride to burn some calories and meet up with fellow cyclists.  24.4 miles on the "Western Hill Climber Route" https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29531186

This is an open, annual event.  There is no registration required.

The weather is questionable for Thursday.  The ride is a go unless raining or snowing.

WW Social / Meeting

  • What:  Winchester Wheelmen Social and Meeting
  • When:  Wednesday, 04 Dec 2024, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Where:  Blue Ridge Bicycles, 2228G Papermill Rd, Winchester, VA 22601

The Winchester Wheelmen will hold a holiday social for all members on December 04, starting at 6:00 PM at Blue Ridge Bicycles.

At the time of issuance of this note, there are 55 people registered for the event.

Please join us for a festive evening of fun, food and refreshments.  Please bring something to share for food (potluck) and we will serve finger foods, refreshments (including wine, beer and limited bar drinks (please BYOB, if so desired)) and desserts.

At the beginning of the evening there will be a short meeting to vote for officers for 2024 (see below).

Please feel free to bring a spouse or guest.

The social will be like last year's event.  This is more casual than pre-Covid banquets we used to hold, as they've become too expense to sustain over time.  We had a big summer picnic and will do the same in 2025.  We always have a great evening, so please plan on attending.

Please register for the event here at the club's website:

https://www.winchesterwheelmen.org/event-5939902

(Registration is free, we just need a headcount.)

*The primary business item is the election of officers for 2024.  We have a vacancy in the secretary position, as Andrea Cosans needs to step down due to some work-side scheduling conflicts.  Andrea's efforts have been greatly appreciated in supporting the club.

If anyone is interested in nomination for this officer position or any other position, please notify any standing officer (RE: Ken Tenney, president; Jason Waymire, vice president; Robert Golightly, treasurer; or Andrea Cosans, secretary.)  A list of expected duties is available for review.  (The initial slate of officers can be without a secretary, but we will need to appoint one in 2025, if not elected.)
