Hi Jason  As you’ve probably heard, a new, unexpected proposal presented at the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) meeting on December 9th threatens the future of the stand-alone 49-mile Shenandoah Rail Trail. The proposal seeks to: ‼️ Transfer the project and funding to the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA). ‼️ Effectively force a "rail-with-trail" scenario, which studies have shown would cost roughly four times more and be much more complicated than the stand-alone trail. This new plan directly conflicts with VDOT's own findings and has bypassed the five years of public review the community has supported. ‼️ TAKE ACTION ‼️ Use this form to send letters to save the trail! ✍🏽 ✍️ ✍🏾 A whopping 1000+ of you have submitted letters–THANK YOU!
