Hammer Nutrition has an article in Enurance News #66 about bar mitts to keep your hands warm. In the article it mentions keeping your feet warm with Sidi Hydro Cycling shoes or Northwave Arctic cycling shoes. Searching on Google, The Northwave Arctic closeouts were sold out everywhere (they were going for less than $40) and the new ones were $199. Seemed kind of expensive for winter wear and were mountain only (at least the ones I could find). I then looked for the Sidi Hydros and they do come in mountain and road and are an $399 retail but you can get them for  an economical $319.99 at Amazon.com. Yikes!
Here's the Hammer article.

You have to scroll WAY DOWN to get to the article about bar mitts.
BTW, if you buy any items on Hammer (they have a sale going on), mention me, customer #139067, so they can send me freebies.   <paid advertisement>    Ha! :)
Seriously, when you first order from them they send you a bunch of neat freebies with the order (samples of Enduralytes, HEED, Recoverite, Perpetuem and gel) and will send you more if you refer new customers to them.

An easier and much less expensive method is to wear two pair of socks with a newspaper bag or bread bag between the layers. This keeps your feet dry and warm and your wallet full.

I am sure any of the local bike shops who support the club could help
you with keeping hands and feet warm just as well as Hammer
Nutrition. And I bet they already know your customer number.

sorry.....Just a thought.

How do you get your socks clean?

And does the newsprint bleed on to your feet?

Just use the bags...not the paper itself. Turn them inside out if you want to be extra careful.

I've always found that propping my feet up in front of a blazing fire works quite well.  For you first timers, be careful not to get your feet too close, it's not marshmallows you're toasting
