I've been researching these for a while now and once I found this
forum it was pretty much set in stone that I had to get one of these.
I've found a genuine wheelman bushpig for a decent price but it is
slightly used but still in excellent condition. What are some things
that I should be sure to look at when I go to check it out. Problem
parts and things of that nature. Thanks for your all's help.

hi
theres nothin decent on tv tonight so i can try and answer your query
from the direct problems i have encountered.
im just installing a new 71cc engine in a spare bushpig i bought a few
years ago
and im doing a couple of things to structually improve it so i dont
run into the same issues with my other.
some things to look out for are
1. the original rollers on the bushpig are crap they wear and dint
very quickly and arent a smooth ride.
ive just replaced mine.
2.the chain stretches and the bushpigs never came with a tentioner but
you can loosen off the drive cage bearing mounts and pull the drive
cage back to retention chain.
3. i wrapped a bit of pvc tape around the ends of the roller axels
where they inserted into the plastic shell
to reduced impact and wear on the shell itself.
4.ive just strenghten the underside of the steel footplates on my
bushpig so it can withstand impacts from jumps
and i also sandwiched a thin piece of rubber between the shell and the
plate for a bit more shock obsorption and smoother ride
5.the original engines are gutless so you might want to upgrade that,
6.the engine mounting hole on the pullstart side of the frame snapped
on me,
as it was manufactured close to the edge of the metal frame ,so i
welded a steel washer at that point to reinforce it.

i cant think of much more at the moment

i always liked the shape and look of the tiginics bushpig but i have
to say i have had more issues with this than the koosko.
hope this helps
cheers lee

I would be extremely interested to see what happens when you get that
71cc installed. Please post your findings...
Thanx.

gidday telda
jobs done, i basically finished installing it last weekend turns out
the engine was a little wider maybe about 10mm
which wasnt a problem as it still managed to fit, but the spark plug
was positioned slightly more upright so it would hit the steering
rod when you turn ,so i had to actually raise the rod end on the front
wheel shell about 50mm
its still really close, ive got a bit more work to do on that, i havent
fired it up yet, probably this weekened just waiting for a decent day
weather wise, im also getting paranoid about being caught riding by
the cops as they now are able by law to impound any unregistered atv,
it will cost me a minimum fee of 350 bucks to buy back my wheelman
from the council along with a bunch of other associated fines,so it
could end up being an expensive days riding !
anyway i will post a couple of photos of the engine installed
tommorrow,
cheers lee
