Engine and Pull Starter
These are the closest existing parts to what the koosko's original
motor was that I ever found. If you find it here, and it looks like
your part... it probably is. "
Eton charges a premium for their parts because they are unique to
their products vs the mass produced parts in a honda lawnmower engine
etc... or at least thats my guess why their so high.
Repairing Eton Koosko engines is a pain because there's really zero
support for them. They even deny that their engine on the Koosko
exists if you call them up. Probably more for liability reasons than
to be a PIA.
Here's my take on repairing the Eton engine.
Koosko's are like restoring old car's. It's not an economical hobby.
Your either going to have to end up spending money for rare premium
parts, or time figuring out ways to repair your existing parts. So it
comes down to which is more important your time or your money. I spent
a few saturdays trying to repair the electronics on my koosko engine.
Soldering/unsoldering, cleaning, filing contacts, researching stuff on
the web. In the end all I needed was a new ignition coil. The
replacement part was $40 through etons website. It's crazy to spend
roughly 1/10 the cost of the koosko on its ignition coil, but thats
what it came down to. I lost almost a month of available summer days
to ride my koosko because I was hung up on a $40 part.
But if you wanna try to repair it let me know and maybe I have some
way to help. I havent needed to fix the pull start yet, but their
fairly common devices. Perhaps a local lawn mower repair place could
look at it. What exactly is broken on it? If its a simple part like a
spring I suggest you try
mcmaster.com
It's kinda like a super home depot. If your looking for generic
specific parts, like a spring in a pull start. They will probably have
it here!
I was able to buy all the components I used when installing my gp460
from here.
