The 34th Annual National Wheelchair Softball Tournament will be held Thursday August 19th to Saturday August 21st, 2010 at the Citi Field Parking Lot home of the MLB NY Mets. The NY Mets Community Relations Department and the Wheelchair Sports Federation will be working closely with the NWSA to put together a National Championship to remember.
The tournament would be held at the Citi Field Parking Lot since the NY Mets would be out of town for the week of Monday August 16th to Sunday August 22nd, 2010. The Paking Lot is brand new and will be 1 year old at tournament time. The banquet would be held inside Citi Field's Acela Club that overlooks the Field on Saturday August 21st, 2010. The Host Hotel would be the Crowne Plaza LaGuardia Hotel near LaGuardia Airport with Shuttle Service with a Lift (1 mile away). The Hotel will provide conference rooms for Teams Meeting, Classifications and Umpire Meetings as well as Team Registration.
This hotel is 11 miles from Manhattan and 2 miles from the Fields. It also has a parking garage and swimming pool and Bar. Transportation from the Host Hotel will be provided for all teams to and from Citi Field. No one would need a rental car or van.
For anyone who is interested in seeing NYC, we can provide tickets for the Observation Deck at the Top of Rockefeller Center "Top of the Rock" and other NYC events.
