Dear All (the cognoscenti, the dilettante, the miffed receiver who has not subscribed to our service, the newly initiated and the many other sub-species of the theatre),
Continuing in our series of features on the Prithvi Festival 2009 is Asmit Pathare's review of two of Adishakti's productions that were part of the main showcase at the festival this year. You can also find out more about this Pondicherry based group and its style of theatre.
A majority of our updates this week include news that theatre practitioners in particular will find useful. There is information about a scholarship as well as upcoming drama competitions. Thespo 11- Mumbai's premier youth theatre festival plus competition starts 6th December with a workshop and an ever interesting line-up of productions and other related events. The Mahindra Awards for Excellence in Theatre 2010 (META) have also been announced.
New Gujarati play- AJAB PATNI NA GAJAB GOTALA will premiere this weekend at Tejpal auditorium. There is plenty on offer this month, including visiting productions from Chennai, based on the work of the master Malayalam writer and Padma Sri recipient Vaikom Mohammed Basheer. Keep watching our site as we continue to bring to you regular and updated content on the best in theatre in Mumbai. Information about the Basheer plays will soon be up on our site.
Cheers,
Deepa Punjani.

"I am so used to seeing the sort of play which deals with one man and two women. They do not leave me with the feeling I have made a full theatrical meal. They do not give me the experience of the multiplicity of life." ~ EM Forster, English novelist, short-story writer, essayist and librettist
