Screening on 2nd July

Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club!

Please note that on Thursday, 25 June, there will be no screening due to scheduled maintenance. 

Next Thursday, 2nd July at 6.30 pm, Sachin Chatte will host the screening of one of the all-time great films, Double Indemnity (1944, 107 mins), directed by Billy Wilder. 

Ranked as the No.1 American Noir film by the British Film Institute,  Double Indemnity was based on the novel by James Cain with a screenplay by Wilder and Raymond Chandler and ended up with 7 Oscar nominations. 

As critic Roger Ebert said, to describe the story is to miss the nuances that make it tantalizing, but in a nutshell, it involves a housewife, an insurance agent, and a murder. 

The screening is on 2nd July, and membership for the film club is open.
