Screening of 'The Golden Thread'

Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club and a very Happy New Year. 

We are resuming our weekly screenings starting this Thursday, January 9th, at 6.30 pm. with the award-winning documentary The Golden Thread (85 mins), directed by Nishtha Jain, who will be present for the screening. The film has traveled to several festivals worldwide and won many awards including the Golden Conch for Best International Documentary at the MIFF, Mumbai International Film Festival.

Set in a jute mill on the outskirts of Kolkata, the film intricately explores the weft and warp of jute production and the aspirations and struggles of its laborers. The screening will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Sachin Chatte, with the director.
