On 9th Apr at 6.30 p.m., Sachin Chatte will host the screening of the classic noir and heist film, The Killing (1956,1 hr 24 mins), directed by Stanley Kubrick.
Kubrick was all of 28 years old when he made this gripping crime thriller that follows a meticulously planned racetrack heist led by a small-time crook determined to pull off one last big score. As each member of the gang plays their part, unforeseen complications and human frailty begin to unravel the perfect plan. Known for its non-linear storytelling, sharp editing, and tense atmosphere, the film explores themes of fate and greed. Featuring standout performances by Sterling Hayden, Coleen Gray, and Elisha Cook Jr., The Killing remains a defining work in the evolution of modern crime cinema and even influenced Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.
