On 7th May at 6.30 p.m., Sachin Chatte will host the screening of the French film, I as in Icarus (I... comme Icare, 1979, 2 hrs), regarded as one of the greatest political thrillers of all time.
Directed by Henri Verneuil, who was a master of thrillers, the film is loosely based on the Kennedy assasination but is set in a unspecified country. When the relected President is assasinated, the state attorney (played by Yves Montand) disagrees with the fact finding commission and launches an investigation of his own and tries to get to the bottom of it. The film won the Grand prix du cinéma français for Best French Movie and is considered to be a classic.
The membership for the film club is open.
